We strive to make getting in nature with your family as easy as possible with regular gatherings of families in North East Grand Rapids area at a variety of locations with fun activities and unstructured free play to allow you and your children to experience all the wonderful benefits of spending time in nature together.
We are not professionals. However we do have a passion for and we see the immense value in getting kids out in nature.
Positive Impacts of playing outside:
It promotes well-being and wholesome physical development
It can develop muscle strength and coordination
It can develop self-confidence and boost creative thinking
It engages all the senses for a more robust and in-depth learning
It burns extra calories, which will help prevent obesity
It promotes good sleep and healthy appetite
It exposes us to sunlight, which gives us a natural boost and makes us feel happier.
Giving the brain a break from the high stimulation of electronic screens
Our aim is to provide family friendly gatherings, educational info on being outdoors, activities, and most importantly, a nature-loving community with a family-like sense of belonging.
We are not professionals, but we have a passion for getting kids outside. If anyone is interested in hosting/leading an event please contact us on our website to let us know! We would love others to come along side of us and share their passion for outdoor exploration.
I am a wife and mother of two adventurous girls who love to play outside. I am a physical therapist who enjoys being active. I love to hike, camp, paddle-board, backpack, swim, fish, snowboard, and spend as much time as I can outdoors in all seasons. I want to share that love of nature with my children as well as other families in our area. I see the value of experiencing nature first hand every time I see my kids interact with outside world and I love re-experiencing nature through their eyes.
I am married to Kristen and we love adventures with our two girls. My interests include hiking, rucking, gardening, camping, and overall just playing/exploring in nature. Watching kids explore their natural world is amazing and we want to build a community that gets families outside experiencing this wondering themselves.
If you are interested in facilitating gatherings with our Nature Club please reach out and chat with us. We would love to meet you and see how we can add more meetings to engage more of our community.
If you are a park, zoo, nature center, or other company/individual that is associated with nature based education we would love to chat and see how we can partner together to help our commuinity get outside.
